How to Upload a Minecraft World to Your Server
Zip the world folder, stop the server, delete the old world folder, upload the zip, decompress it in /home/container and start the server.
Run the server on the same Minecraft version the world was last played on, or newer. Opening a world on an older version can corrupt it. If the current world matters, make a backup in Backups first.
1. Zip your world
Singleplayer worlds live in the saves folder:
| System | Location |
|---|---|
| Windows | %appdata%\.minecraft\saves\ |
| macOS | ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves/ |
| Linux | ~/.minecraft/saves/ |
Rename the world's folder to world, then zip it. The server loads whatever folder level-name in server.properties names, and that's world by default.
2. Replace the world
- Stop the server in the Crunchy.Host panel.
- In Files, delete the
worldfolder. On Paper, Purpur and Spigot, also deleteworld_netherandworld_the_end, or the old dimensions stay attached. - Upload the zip to
/home/container. For worlds over a gigabyte, SFTP is more reliable than the browser. - Select the zip, choose Decompress, then delete the zip.
- Start the server.
If a new world generates instead
The server didn't find level.dat. It has to be at /home/container/world/level.dat. Zips often extract into a nested world/world/; move the contents up one level. If you kept a different folder name, set level-name to match it.
Datapacks travel inside the world folder. Mods and plugins don't, so install the same ones on the server.
