How to Set Up Plasmo Voice on a Minecraft Server

· 1 min read

Install Plasmo Voice, add a port in the Network tab, and set that number as port in the [host] section of its config.toml. Players need the Plasmo Voice mod on their client to talk. Without it they can still play.

1. Install

Download the build matching your platform and Minecraft version from Modrinth, along with any listed dependency. In Files of the Crunchy.Host panel, upload it to plugins on Paper and Purpur, or to mods on Fabric and Forge. Restart once so it creates the config.

2. Add a port and set it

  1. In Network, add a port and note its number, for example 25614.
  2. Stop the server and open config.toml. It's in plugins/PlasmoVoice/ on Paper and config/plasmovoice/ on mod loaders.
  3. Set the port in [host], leaving ip as is:
[host]
ip = "0.0.0.0"
port = 25614
  1. Start the server with a full restart, not a reload.

The default port = 0 reuses the game port. A dedicated port is the reliable setup.

3. Test

Join with the mod installed and open the Plasmo Voice menu. Find its keybind in Options > Controls. It should show you as connected.

Extras like group channels and server-wide broadcasts are separate addons on Modrinth. They install the same way and must match your Plasmo Voice version.

Not connecting

  • Voice unavailable: port doesn't match the Network tab, or the server wasn't fully restarted. Check the startup log.
  • Port already in use: another mod holds it. Add a new port.
  • Only some players fail: their client mod is missing or built for another Minecraft version.

Plasmo Voice and Simple Voice Chat don't work together. Pick one.
